Product Review: Clarol Silver Serum
To say my skincare journey has been tumultuous would be an understatement. I have combination, sensitive and acne prone skin- it's a product nightmare to say the least. I am in no way all the way there with my skin or the way I feel about it but for now I can talk about something I'm loving this year and something that I'm feeling really positive towards already.
The concept of Silver Serum presents in my opinion an innovative attitude towards skincare. It works with your skin's natural bacterial defences in order to challenge the blemish creators on your skin in a way that your body usually would, just with an extra pep in its step!
This is a positive for both me and my sensitive skin, topping up your pre-made skin protectors can only be a good thing. It's gentle way of working is ideal for the skin that reacts badly to the harshness of typical acne treatments without becoming ineffective. As for my combination skin type, it somehow manages to even out the polars of my face. It is not over-drying, so no flakey bits or overt reactions here! Similarly, its not a heavily moisturising product which means that it doesn't add to the oils already on your face, something that the acne prone person will know is always best to avoid.
In terms of gaining clearer skin, for me it's early days. I have been using the product for just under two months and I am seeing a marked improvement in the appearance of blemishes on my face. In my more stubborn problem areas, which for me are my chin and forehead, I am still experiencing small breakouts. However these are arriving in nowhere near the numbers they were before, something that is a definite positive! More than this, I have no new blemishes on my cheeks and I even think it is having an impact in reducing the appearance of scarring. It's a win-win!
Having a positive attitude is just as important as finding the perfect products and completely clear skin may be along way off for me. But managing my acne is something I have always worked towards and will continue to do so in a way that combines maintenance with long term solutions. This too, of course, will involve developing my own self-acceptance of my acne-prone skin. Silver Serum is providing an incredible confidence boost and I am really enjoying the the affect it is having on my skin.
